Default No Warning Recalls

On my last out of town trip the oil light kept coming on... like the manual says, we pulled over immediately to check it... both times the oil level was right... also the a/c would start to blow hot air (not warm air HOT AIR) then cycle back to cold air... took it to the dealership... they kept it 3 days... when we picked it up that is when they informed us about the oil pan recall (which they replaced) and some kind of a/c switch recall (which they replaced)... not once did anyone from Mazda or the dealership inform me that these recalls existed... makes me wonder how many other recalls there are on this car that I don't know about... however, I did read in one of the posts here that you can find out what government recalls are required on the car... but I'm not so sure calling the dealership to run my vin to find out what recalls are still outstanding on my car is a good idea as I don't believe they will be forthright... does anyone know of another way to search information on your vin WITHOUT going through the dealership?

You did not get notified of these issues because they are not recalls but only service bulletins. If you want to know of any outstanding recalls then send a PM (private message) with your 17 digit VIN and I will be happy to check for you.
