i bought a 2004 mazda rx8. body is clean, has new exhaust tires and a bunch of other things. however, sometimes it will run fine but when it gets hot it’ll just shut off at a stop light, rpms will drop and not idle where it’s supposed to. thinking it might be compression or apex seals, anyone else dealt with that problem and can give me some advice?

 

Find a workshop that specializes in rotarys, get a compression test done.

Rotaries require a special type of compression tester.
