My 2004 rx-8 ran beautifully for the first nine months, but for the last ten months it has been one engine problem after another. First, it was the motor mounts(they were replaced), then I couldn't accelerate past three thousand RPM's when I took off. The dealership had no clue because the engine light didn't come on and it didn't leave a code for what the problem could be. They had to go back and forth with the manufactures and dicided to replace the engine. The engine was replaced and two weeks later started doing the same thing. I don't think the dealership believed me so I had to take it one day when I had driven it all morning. They finally saw for themselves when it just shut off on them when it was parked. I haven't had my car for three weeks now and am really tired of hearing them say to be patient!!
