Default K&N Air Filters?

Has anybody used K&N air filters on their RX-8?

Or on any other car for that matter?

Thanks for the response, Mike! I've considered a cold air intake, so I may just do that in the future.

The reason I'm asking about the filter is that I've been told that it pays for itself in fuel mileage pretty quickly. Any word on that? The mileage kills me on this car.

I havent personally used a k & n filter I bought my RX8 in febuary, im a service consultant for mazda, I put mazda speed intake it has improved gas milage depending on how you drive, I also found a surge energy performance chip from K2that connects to your mass air flow sensor and comunicates with you computer to control the air to fuel mixture, there is adjustment for either performance or better gas milage, this product does work it was $110.00 from autodirectsave.com also make a chip for the 02 sensor if
you wanted to take out your converter and put a racing beat down pipe my vehicle performs great!!!!

Thanks for the good info, Mike! How much did the cold air intake set you back?
