I have heard some criticism that they don't do a great job filtering the air, but I think that's not a concern unless you live someplace where the dirt and grit is really fine. In South Jersey it's sand, so I'm not worried. Do not over-oil the filter after cleaning. Some people figure a little more oil must be better, but it's asking for trouble, migrating to the mass air flow sensor and fouling the sensor.

Stick with the original air filter, it was especially designed for this engine management system. You will experience "check engine" lamp failures, etc, if you foul the system with oil/dirt deposiys from the K & N, or similar. Replace the original often, and you'll be fine.

I went with the AEM short ram intake. Haven't experienced any problems yet, no sensors or warning lights have gone off. They gave detailed instructions on how to properly install and uninstall the stock intake without any of those problems occuring. Just an FYI for you guys.
