I have a 2004 RX-8 and my cd player does not work. i have 6 cds in there and when i press the cd button nothing plays and can't even eject the cd's either. My radio works and the sterio works but not the cd player.

Does anyone have any ideas to what it is or what caused this malfunction? I don't want to bring it to a dealer cause it is a bit far from my house. [:@][:@][:@][:@] Also i want to know what kind of cd player it is in my car and who makes it cause if i have to replace it i do not want to go through the dealer cause they rip me off all the time. I want to also know where i can order it at a good price, better then the dealer.

I have an 04 rx8. Had the same issue cd would not play but everything else works. Had to have the dealer order a hole new base and one little module in order to play cds again. Luckly it was under warranty.

 

Thanks, you were right i just ended up bringing it back to the dealer to replace the entire cd player cause the mechanism was broken. So im happy now that i have a working cd player again, lol.
