Default Urgent Reply Please

Hi All...

Just joined the fourm to get some advise hoping some one can help.

Little bit of History:
I used to own a 330BHP Subaru, whihc sold and bought a BMW M3 Evo, now have just sold this and was thinking of buying a RX7, always wanted one but was put off by hearing stories about the car and the engine of it!

can someone please shed some light in terms of what can go wrong with the Rx7, (rebuilds etc)
What i should look out for when buying one?
Are there any face lift models? or do they all look the same..interior and exterior?

I am after a Twin Turbo..

Thanks for any input.

Sam

[8D]rx 7 s are quite reliable the 13 b moter has bean around fo a long tine 1973 or so efi and turbos add lots of power just like all carse heat is your enemney my spelling stinks ,a clean adult owned car no oil leaks low milage lots of problems people have are thare onwne doing like over reving running the car hard and not letting cool down before shutting off the moter.these and all rotreysconsume oil oil is injecet in the intake . thease cars rev hard and high 9000 they are happy over thatwhell ,in a piston poper you would maby bend valvs spin berings through a rod a rotry has fewer moveing parts.and prity ilght .i have seen 1 gen rx7s go 150000 200000+ miles with oil changes and spark plugs , sam ?what is a fase lift modle ?? lots of body kits out thare for all of them the rx line is a good car [8D]

you idle for a few minutes after hard driving to drain the turbos of oil. If you have been a good driver 30 to 45 seconds should do. always warm up and cool down and your engine will last forver. also The 3rd Gen twin turbo has 3 different things visually.

Rx-7 base (just called rx-7 1993 & 1994)- cloth int.
Rx-7 Touring(1993 & 1994)- Fog lights and Leather int. bose CD system, rear wiper, cargo cover
Rx-7 R1(1993 & 1994)- Suede-like cloth int. and a spoiler (least comfort options but fastest)
Rx-7 R2(1995)-same as R1 visually, has less stiff suspension than R1 (slightly slower than R1 but faster than rest)

1995s aren't called touring or anyhting. They are all base with your own selected options. You pick the interrior the options etc. only exception is the speedy barebones R2.
