oil metering pump lines
I have an 85 Rx-7 GS with a 12a engine that I bought new in May of 1985. I have loved this car since the first day that I owned it. It currently has 66,000 miles on it. It has never seensnow or road saltas I store it every winter. Last fall before I placed it in storage I noticed that there was smoke coming out from under the hood after driving it some distance. When I looked at it I thought that the front housinggasket was leaking a bit. I placed it in storage planing to get it checked out when I took it out of storage this spring. I took it to the Mazda dealer to have the leak checked and was told that in fact one of the oil metering lines was broken! It appears that the 2 o-rings at the oil cooler need to be replaced as well. They quoted me about $700.00 to replace the 2 lines and o-rings, the 3 belts and change the oil. Is this about right? I can not do it myself as I am now disabled. The car still runs great. I just hope that I haven't destroyed the rotor seals. Are there better lines available other then the original plastic lines? If so, where can I obtain them. For the time being I havespliced the oil lines broken halves together with a piece of rubber fuel line but could not get the line in very far. If I have only the one line does this mean that only one of the rotors sealis getting lubricated?
Any help would be appreciated!

WOW henningmd, are they replacing the oil cooler or just resealing!!!!The two small 'o' rings at the base of the cooler are a 1-1.5 hour job. The oil metering lines take about 5 minutes. Think I would be looking at a second opinion quote before you get taken that badly. I would guestimate more at the $200-$300 dollar mark depending upon the going labor rate.
