Washer fluid pump
Hi all,
I have to replace my washer fluid pump but I am not sure how to go about it. I was looking in my book but there is nothing in there for this part. The car is the 99 protege LX 1.6 (igor) I was looking and I would not be able to slide the reservoir out. The only thing I see is that I would have to take the wheel well cover off to get to the pump is there another way?

Just replaced mine on my ‘93
I have a ‘93 so it may not work for you but I was able to get the washer fluid reservoir out by removing the screws holding the power steering reservoir and gently moving it out of the way. The online tutorials say you have to remove the front bumper.

youve probably done it by now or not because it takes forever to do. I’m about to try but you need to remove the front end. Remove about 5/6 screws each from the top and underside so the bumper and grill will come off but that’s not all. You need to remove screws inside the door wells on both sides plus a hidden couple of screws tucked in behind the wheel dam via pulling back the inside wheel arches. So much work for such a cheap piece to replace. Good luck.
