Rev Limiter

Rev Limiter
I have an '97 Protege with a 1.5 liter 5 speed manual. Love this little grocery getter and the wife loves to drive it. She calls it, "The Whip-It" because she just whips it in to about any parking space or tight spot out there without effort.
Anyhoo, we also have some fun with it racing autocross. There's no power there to brag about but it does handle good and is lottsa fun. Does this car have a rev limiter in it or do I need to buy an external one and install it. I have a lot of miles on the engine and would like to keep the RPMs below 6000.
Thanks in advance, I couldn't find this answer in the search.

Yeah, I see that. That's what I'm asking I guess, does the factory system do anything when it gets to that point. When I am running around the autocross track in a sea of little orange cones I am constantly looking way ahead of me to see where the next turns are, I can't look down and see where the RPM's are because that second of taking my eyes off the course will make me miss a set up for the next corner.
So when the engine revs to the red on my gauge it will cut the fuel so it won't rev any higher? If this is the case I don't need a rev limiter, thanks.
