Hi, My protege 99's key can't be removed from the car. I can start the engine, turn the engine off but it won't get under the ACC when i turn it counter-clockwise to get it out. The steering wheel won't lock at all when I turn it in both extremities. I unplugged the battery to see if it's an electronic problem but it still won't come out. I tried moving the cables under the steering wheel hoping that it would fix the issue, still no dice (i got that tip after googling all around). The car is standard (manual)

Can anybody help with this?

Do you push the key inward? There is a little spring that requires you to push the key inward so the key can't fall out by chance.
