So your JVC deck turns on normal and you can change radio stations and adjust volume and play a CD but just no sound output. Try just connecting up the basic power and ground circuits with no speakers connected. Now try and connect one speaker to each of the speaker outputs one at a time and see if any produce sound. The volume is turned up eh?

Are you using an aftermarket wiring harness like Scosche to connect to the system? It sounds to me like you have a wire mixed up somewhere. With my car, I put in my Sony system & used the Scosche harness, but I connected wires as I went along. I had an advantage though, because I had removed the radio from my old truck & replaced the aftermarket radio the old owners had in the Mazda.
