Default New member, dim headlight question

hi all, I'm new to the forum and have an issue with a headlight. The car is new to me and before my purchase was in a very minor accident. (someone backed into it) the headlight mounts were broken so I purchased a used headlight and turn signal. The old headlight was bright as can be, but the replacement is very dim. I've swapped out the bulbs and get the same result. With the bulb out of the housing the filament glows a dull amber suggesting a lack of power. Some have suggested that it is a ground issue. Any thoughts?

Ok, next question... Reasons for flashing check engine light?

I had the code for the downstream O2 sensor... Replaced it... Now flashing light? What gives????

I was going to suggest the same. A bad ground, or a bad solder connection in the bulb itself. I had that one time w/an H-4. Resoldered the back of the bulb and voila! Problem solved, but you seemed to have eliminated that last possibility.
