Default Clock/radio display unit VERY dim (pics included)

As you can see the difference in brightness with the trip gauge vs clock display unit. You can HARDLY see the display in the day time, sometimes not even at all. Has anyone seen or knows a fix for this? I know theres a recall on the unit, but for not working properly in the cold and I'm in Florida. Any help would be great thanks.

And you don't always have a habit of turning on your headlights, right? If you have your headlights on the interior ones will be really dim by default... at least they are in mine... just a random thought.

Don't forget that there's abrightness button AND a brightness dial, and then a 3rd dimmer button to the right of the clock display...play with them all, and you will hopefully be able to see your gauges. But if the headlights are on, you still have the option of toggling between "dim" and "bright" for the instruments, and I've found that if my lights are on during the day (overcast conditions, for example), setting the instruments to "bright" makes them easily visible. Let us know how it works out, ok? You don't mention the year and model of your car...please do so in the future. My response pertains to what I know, which is the '04 6S.
