ok what is the bar on that runs to the front motor mount where the engine and trans meet? and why is it hanging off? i just had the mount replaced and the mechanic has never seen that bar before i can provide a pic if needed

no i know what a crossmember is, this is a small bar that runs to that motor mount/ mount bracket

here is a pic it is the rusty bar with the rubber bushing that is to the left of the mount

 

OK SO guess it is some secret device only our car has?
