Default Mazda 323 1.5 1998 BJ Problems acceleration

Hello Forum

I just bought this car, and seller told me there was some minor problems with engine stalling under acceleration.

The car don't have OBD, but only diagnostics in the engine bay. (can someone help me with the correct diagram, on how to read out fault codes?). I found some diagrams on google, but when i try to connect it as shown... My Engine fan starts up? And no codes are shown.

Also i've checked for vacum leaks, cleaned MAF, changed Plugs and Coils.... Nothing helped...

Does anyone have an idea?

Yes I've read it, and checked as much as I can.

I haven't checked my catalytic converter, because I'm not sure how to check if it is ok?

Also I'm not sure if my car have EGR... But I don't think so since there is a plate mounted on the inlet manifold, and also the pipe from exhaust is blinded/blocked.

Can anyone help me how to read out any fault codes, from the diagnostics in the engine bay ?

Sorry for my bad english, but I'm from Denmark :-)

You don't have an EGR system. That's good!
Are you sure there is no OBDII connector under the dash? If not there should be a connector in the engine bay near the fuse box.

I'm pretty sure the car only have Diagnostics in the Engine bay, and no ODB 2 like newer cars... I got a diagram for Mazda 323 BJ 1.6, and when i connect like it says, my engine fan starts blowing, and no codes are shown ???

Please help

My car is build in Japan, if that makes any difference?

I will check under the dash, to make sure one more time...

It does not matter so much where the car was built. It matters more for which market the car was built. That is the reason why you don't have an EGR system. I don't know what else is different from the US models.
You may have to look for help locally.
All the best!
