Default mass air flow sensor question

yall are talking about a thin piece of wire or two wires, on ours it is a thin piece of metal about 3/32 wide but paper thin. it is on a 2001 proto 2.0 L and does the thin piece of metal in the mass air flow suppose to be at a slight angle in the air stream? you know about 5 degrees off of plumb in the stream? mine is clean but is at an angle.......wouldnt this create turbulance and not read right?

It is at an angle because that way it can "read" the air going across it. This way it has some surface area to get a good reading.
