When I accelerate and when my car is idling I have a high pitched wistling that comes from my engine compartment. I'm not sure what it is, but I think that it might be a crack in my exaust manifold. What do you think?

 

most whistling sounds i've heard were belt souds....so what i would do is turn on car, put it in neutral and put parking break on....open hood....find the throttle body ( how you can control the throttle from the engine compartment)....rev the engine up to what driving speed for you would be and use your ears to listen around
