Default door lock issue

I forgot about this pesky problem and thought I would ask you guys. The door lock switch on this car has been missing since I bought it, finally went to the boneyard and found one to replace it with. I plugged the switch in and the locks in the car just lock automatically, when you push the button to unlock they kick up and when you release the button they lock again...so basically your locked in the car all the time. So I unplugged the switch again and am back to the drawing board..I checked for pinched wires and cant find anything. Is there some solenoid or fuse that could be bad and causing this ? my electronics knowledge is not what it should be.
Thanks again.

Perhaps the switch you got from the boneyard is defective lethalv6.
The switch should only have two wires to it. Shorting the two wires directly together should unlock the door. A 1000 Ohm resistor placed between the two wires will create the lock signal. You could use those numbers and a resistor from radio shack to check and see if operation is normal without the switch installed. I am wagering on bad switch.

I tried both the switches and they did the same thing. I may have two bad ones, with my luck it could be. I may try another just to be sure...it seems like a pinched wire or something.
