Default Clicking sound in rear wheel well...

When accelerating from 0 to about 30 MPH I'm hearing a clicking sound that seems to be coming from the rear wheel well (drivers side). Once the car is up to speed the clicking stops. Only lasts a few seconds. And it's inconsistent. Doesn't make this sound after every stop. For lack of a better definition it sounds like a geiger counter. Any idea's what this may be? By the way, this is a 2002 Protege5 with 127K miles.

I would have a good look at the brakes and E-brake. Maybe they don't fully release.
