Default CAn someone help please?

I own a mazda P5 year 2002, and for about a year now my car makes a whistling noise when im idle and sometimes when im driving. at first i thought it was the alternator, then I had it checked, and it wasn't. so i narrowed it down to the fan belt or the intake. can anyone help me with this problem?couldit be something esle?

what do you hear when you open the hood and pull the throttle cable? can you narrow it down further?

If you think it might be a drive belt then simply spray a little lubricant onto the ribbed side of the belt while it is running and making the noise. Silicone spray is the best but even WD-40 will do. Try to get one with an included straw that attaches to the nozzle so you can direct the spray better. If the noise changes in pitch or goes away then it would be caused by whichever belt you just sprayed.
