Exclamation Brake Pad Dilemma...HELP ASAP

One of my brake pads on the left rear tire is worn while the other 3 tires look fine. My car is a Mazda Protege 5 and it's front wheel drive. I have not heard any screeching when I brake and don't feel any difficulty when braking at the moment. How long will I have before taking it to a mechanic? How much will it cost me roughly and how long will it take to fix?

Any insight would be much appreciated.

Thank you!!

This is a question that has many, many variables. most of braking done with front brakes.
Cost depends on where the brakework is done.....and who is doing the work and are you replacing just the rear brake pads(I assume you have disc brakes all the way around)
How are your DIY skills? It's not a complicated procedure, know a friend that could help?
Get estimates on the work at several reputable,....REPUTABLE places.

Dear copierman,

Thank you for your quick reply! I am fairly new to cars and driving in general so my DIY skills are not enough at the moment
I will definitely shop around to get reasonable estimates. Be well!

Sounds like the piston in that caliper maybe sticking.
