I have a 99 Protege, it is missing badly at idle. The OBD code reader says PO302 and PO106. I have misplsced my repair manual, where do I look for the mass air flow sensor, which is where I think the code reader page indicates the trouble is.

the MAF sensor is attached to the airbox, inline with the intake tubing. it is a little tube with a square top and a little blue dot on it.

 

yeah your sensor would be in that tube its connected to wiring that goes to your ecu, take it out you might need a torx tool and take electronic cleaner and spray it and give it about 20 min before you put back in to make sure its dry then try it if it doesn't work it might be damaged.
