SRS airbag error codes
Hi there,
I have a 1995 UK model Mk.1 MX-5 (Miata), 1.8iS with a flashing SRS airbag warning light. It looks fine when I first switch on the engine, the light comes on for a second or two and then extinguishes, however after just under a minute later it starts to flash - five times, then a brief pause (½-1 sec.) then two flashes. After a few seconds the sequence repeats - five flashes, pause, two flashes.
Anybody know what this means? Is it likely to be just a loose connection, or are we looking at a big bill??

RE: SRS airbag error codes
Good post with description of light flashes. Was unable to access Online manual for 95 as they only go back to 96 MY but will check the meaning of a flashcode 52 in the morning and post as soon as I can.

RE: SRS airbag error codes
Not going to be much help I guess. The US manual does not have anything close to this kind of code for air bag. Light will either stay on or flash 3, 6, or 7 times but no 5-2. Looked all the way up to 2000 model with still no help. Hope it is not a control module fault!! We had a special service program for 95's built between July 1, 94 to June 30, 95 that had us replacing the control module for unnecessary deployment in slow crash. Access to module requires removal of dashboard as it is located just below the windshield in center. Europe models must have different system. Sorry.

RE: SRS airbag error codes
Is that two long flashes followed by 6 short, a pause, and then repeats again? If so it is inidcating a fault in the drivers side air bag circuit. This is the air bag that is located on the outer edge of you drivers seat back.
