I have a low mileage '95 Protege LX that has the original tape player/stereo which is working fine. I would like to install a CD player, and have attempted to try to see how the stereo is removed. I've had the surrounding pieces off, but have not been able to see how the springs (which I assume are there) that hold in the unit are released. I've seen the U-shaped tools that are supposed to fit into holes on each side of the unit, but on mine, I don't see any holes to put the tools into. The manual says something about plugs that have to be removed from these holes, but I don't see any plugs, and no holes. Anyone have ideas about this process on a '95 Protege?
