2000 Protege rough idle P0171 only in Drive

Thanks guys I was getting some sputtring going up a hill last few days and when I came to a stop car was surging on its own... I checked my brake booster hose and it was cracked almost in half right at the fitting of air intake. Cut off cracked piece and pushed hose back onto fitting and replaced hose clamp.. Purring like a kitten...will test out tom going to work...thanks again

Mine was an internal booster air/vac leak! I Got a replacement from the boneyard!
