Yes it is , but not in the way you think. The ECU is doing its best to keep the engine running by compensating for faulty signals from the MAF and O2 sensors. Those signals are junk because there is a vacuum leak behind the MAF sensors. Hence the engine is running lean to various degrees.
Fix the vacuum leak. The ECU is just fine.

How do i change the fuel filter? Its hard to get to with any tools
Whenever i push on the throttle it surges or hesitates and it doesnt come out of it. if you hold the throttle down long enough with it surging the check engine light starts blinking. I recently did a clutch change on it and replaced the fuel filter and dumped some fuel treatment in it. what is causing this?
