Default 1997 Mazda Protege License Plate & Trunk Lights

For some reason neither of these work?
Can it be a fuse?If so where/which one is it?
I checked the wires along the trunk & it looks like everything is plugged up?
I have the owners manual & didn't see a fuse specified for these either?
Thanks Everyone!!!

Trunk lights mean boot lid/ trunk lid? If so its likely a wire has broken in the loom that runs from the body to the lid. ( these fllex every time the boot/trunk opens & closes)

Do you have power either side of the loom that goes from the body to the trunk lid?

I have power to the tail/brake lights
I think those are loomed together
Well there is one set of wires that doesn't have another plugged into it
Everything's connected but that one set in the trunk
I don't see any wires ripped or hanging either
Doesn't look like there's any missing to plug into it

Can my backup switch be the problem for this issue?
