Default 98' 626 license plate bulbs

I went to my local Pep Boys and using their automated bulb finder bought some replacement bulbs for the tag light.

Got home and after mucho head scratching figured out how to drop the lens's to access the lamps.

But.... the lamps have a plastic base to them and the suggested replacement is just the old glass bub with wire contacts.

Am I supposed to somehow get the glass bulb out of the plastic base? Or is there a replacement lamp with a plastic base that I should be using?

If the bulb does not pull out of the socket without much difficulty then it is the soldered in style and will need to be replaced socket and all. You will probably have much better luck getting the correct one if you take your old one in with you to Pep Boys.
