Default 1000 Protege - Removing rear axle locknut

I have a 2000 Protege - 1.6L 5 speed - I'm trying to replace the rear brake shoes, and I'm having difficulty removing the axle locknut. I punched out the indentation, but I can't get the nut loose. Is there a trick to doing it? I have been hammering on the wrench, even standing on it, but it's not budging. Do I just keep at it?

Thanks!

Default figured it out

48" section of 1" iron pipe - got enough leverage.
