Default Familia Coupe 1000 - 1965

I have recently inherited a Mazda Coupe 1000, 1965 model. They were the model before the R100 shape. Its a cool looking little car, designed by some Italian dude. I managed to find an old brochure on it, however that it. Any photos(engine bay) or info would be great. I cant even info to value damn thing. Does anyone own one or know of anyone that owns one?
Cheers

Hello,

I own 2 of them and looking to restore them both.

They are rare as hens teeth and parts are even harder to find. No one seems to list anything for them.

Parts interchange with the Mazda 800 predecessor, body, some suspension etc.

Let me know how I could help.

Got lots of images etc.

Very cool cars....I could see one with a small block V8 and riding low like a Chip Foose creation(I assume being a 65 it's rear wheel drive) I like the body lines..Reminds me of some of the old Fiats/BMW's

Hehehehehe........not quite enough room for a small block. They struggle to fit rotaries in them without cuting gearbox tunnels and custome headers.

They were designed by an Italian dude by the name od Guigiaro, hence the reesemblence to Fiat's and Alfa's etc.

The later models (R100, 1300 etc ) were designed by Bertone but this Mazda 1000 Coupe stands out as an original design.

If you know of anyone that could help with locating parts for it, it would be great....

Many thanks again
Steven

If I had one I can guarantee it would have a small block by the time I was done. Wasn't much room for a small block in my friend's 240Z, but it's in there now.
