im lookin to replace the EGR vacuum solenoid and they sell them online for like $12 or from an auto parts store for near me for $81. whats the difference in the two parts?
it would also seem there is something called a PRC solenoid valve which looks identicle to the part i wish to replace and i dont know what the difference between the PRC and the EGR is.
from what i understand the part im looking for is part #k5t49090
please any help understanding this solenoid would be great it reads like 58ohms on my multimeter so i dont even know if thats bad or if it is stuck open or stuck closed. how would i check?
please any advice on this issue would be helpful
thanks

#K5T49090 is the vacuum solenoid that's controlled by the PCM to supply vacuum to, & operates the EGR valve.
Usually to test the Vacuum solenoid, you remove the solenoid from the car, disconnect both hose ( marking which is which ) apply 12v+ & negative to the two terminals, blow thru one port & see if the air flows out the other, then remove the wires and blow again. One way will allow air to flow, the other will not. Also when power is supplied, & disconnected, the solenoid will make a click noise.
PRC is just another name for a vacuum solenoid. Operates via PCM to supply vacuum to operate a switch/ valve, lever, actuator.
Google is your friend for photos.

Awesome. So it sounds like the EGR and the PRC are actually the same thing and they will work interchangeably regardless of price?
i just want to make sure the right part goes in the right location.
Google didn't have much information about my questions with regards to these two parts being the same or interchangeable so I decided to post about it.
I will try that test with the solenoid and see where I get.
