Default 02 P5 Massive smoke from exhaust/CAT

The cars been thru a lot since we got it. Its got a real bad hesitation problem. It threw the codes P1569 Manufacturers control code, which I believed to be the front CAT.. P0171 too lean in bank one, changed the fuel injector for bank one.(the car is off while reading codes and changing parts). P0301 Cylinder one misfire. After changing the fuel injector, we start the car. Its rough as hell, won't stat running and theres massive smoke coming from between the exhaust manifold and the front CAT. We keep getting suggestions that the heads cracked and leaking. Theres mo fluids out. Oil still good and full, antifreeze levels are still full with no leakage. So I decide the do the compression check. Start pulling off wires for the spark plugs and cylinder one comes out in pieces. Theres the cylinder one misfire. Go to Auto zone and get new wires. Pull bank one plug, has a little gas but good. Compression at 160psi. Bank two, same thing. Compression at 156psi. Bank three and four are dry. Compression both at 150psi. So the compression test checks out. This is a 2002 Mazda Protege5 2.0L. Im going to changed the EGR valve and clean the MAF. Also, going to take of the heat shield from the front CAT and remove exhaust manifold to inspect. Ordered straight pipes from exhaust all the way to back CAT. Not sure what else. Will keep posted. Just wondering if anyone else has any other ideas or suggestions for help. This car is driving me crazy.
