Default Using Gas

My Truck Seems To Be using too much gas, the guy i bought my truck from ran a hot wire to the fuel pump when he replaced it for some reason. That would not have any affect on it drinking gas. New tires, new fuel filter, new gas tank, new fuel hoses (high pressure) new plugs, new wires. My distrubuter i bought for it did not look exacaltly like the old one that went bad, that want have any thing to do with it would it?

Check your Oxygen sensor!!

check it by running any Diagnostic Trouble Codes using a code scanner.

Scanners are available to general public, but they can be spendy. Most of the cheaper (under $100 U.S.) will just make the check engine light flash out the codes. If you have a good repair manual, it's easy as counting light blinks.

Then Replace your Oxygen sensor if it is bad before you burn up your catalytic converter.

should be cheap to replace and sometimes easy to get to.

Go to www.NAPAonline.com and that will get you close to what you may pay in a store.

I work for NAPA so I my be able to answer product questions.
