Default Chugging and smoke

I just bought an 88' Mazda B2200 from my brother-in-law and it has its problems one of them is that it chuggs like it is losing power, the second problem is that it smokes really bad. Third he tried fixing it himself and disconnected all the vacuum lines, if anyone has any ideas or help to the 2 main problems then please let me know.

Default RE: Chugging and smoke

i know you don't want to hear this but it sounds like your engine may be just tired. i got a 1989 B2200 that smoked and i was going to just rering it, HA. too much taper in the cylinder walls, two broken pistons, about $850.00 in parts and my lobor i have a new 2.2 engine. you could go to, city motor in texas they have long blocks, short blocks. all very reasonable priced. hope this helps. just google city motor supply.
