Default mazda 6 chugging

Hi guys! I bought a 08 mazda 6 with 27k miles about 3 weeks ago. About a week or so ago I noticed it chugging/jerking at low gears. But today it started chugging/jerking when I was travelling at 70mph. It stops when I press down further on the accelorator but starts when i slow down again. the DPF light is not on and I have dirven at 2k revs at 40mph for 15 mins to try to clear that. no difference. any ideas what is wrong?

Could be a vacuum leak, ignition problem or fuel delivery problem. the EGR system could be involved too.
I would start with basic tune up things. Plugs, wires etc. Cleaning the maf sensor might help.

DPF? Is that a Diesel? Engine Size? Important info forgotten again
Not that I know anything about diesels, but it may be important for others.
