If you want to keep throwing new parts at the problem, a good one is the fuel filter: I saw one so clogged up the car wouldn't even idle. If you want to assess the problem, get a $5 voltage metre with a loop test option on it, and find out if theres any electrical problems.

Check for vacumm leaks, dirty fuel, and crapped out sensors.

Its too bad there is a lack of mazda pickup lovers here who have worked on them long enough to know the truck's quirks and typical issues.

When it won't start, does it fire at all?

It does fire, actually it will run for a while at times. I have changed the fuel filters. I've even went as far as dropping the gas tank. My next step is replacing the hole distributor, already have it. Now it's not firing at all leaving me to believe it was going bad now its completely gone. I'll let you know if it works. Thanks for the suggestion.

Common problems were ignitor in the distributor (rebuilt dist is best) Ignition switch contacts ( just the electrical portion of the switch) Noise suppressor on the coil ( just remove it completely,it was only for auto trans models) Clogged monolith converter ( Remove the o2 sensor to create an exhaust leak) You dont say if it is fuel injected or carb.

if the sending units similiar to the b2600i on my 91.
just went through this .
thought it was the pump giving up(300cdn for new pump)but turned out the contacts/wires through the sending unit were rotting out.
depending on the bump/movment in the wires.it would or wouldn't run/start/stall out.

For all problems like this, you need to first determine whether the problem is fuel, spark, or compression related; if you have all of those, it will run. So make sure timing belt is OK and hasn't jumped (compression). Spray some aerosol starting fluid down the carb throat/or fuel injection throat and see if it runs for a few seconds (fuel). Use an inexpensive spark tester, wire it to a spark plug, have someone hit the starter, see if the tester flashes (spark). Don't just replace stuff at random.

Yes, changing fuel filter is a good idea if it hasn't been changed lately. And the electrical of the ignition switches do go bad. The carbed B-Series have very complex carbs. Distributor pick-up and ignitor can go bad over time. You need to isolate the area that's bad and start there.
