Default Mazda pickup won't stay running

Hello, 90's Mazda pickup progressively ran worse until now when it wont start at all. It turns over and "fires up" for a second then shuts off. Ran a code reader on it a few times with no codes coming up. Checked all the fuses and relays-also no problems. I listened and heard the fuel pump run when the truck was on (although I did not check the pressure because I don't have a tool for that). Replaced the fuel filter. Still does the same thing. What the heck could be going on here? Any advice would help--thank you.

Sounds like a fuel problem. The easiest way to check is to spray a bit of carb cleaner into the intake when having a friend try to start it up. If it starts and idles then you know its a fuel problem.
