A colleague at work is selling his Mazda MX3 1.6 Auto.
I am looking for opinions from forum members as to if this would be a good buy for me.
I have never owned a Mazda before.
It is a red 1996 2 door hatchback.
2 owners from new.
43,000 miles
Fully seviced by local garage
£1500 for quick sale.
It has just had the cambelt replaced.

It wouls mainly be used around town with the odd 5 hour journey to Devon.
I have pictures of the car but have not yet driven it or seen it in the flesh.

Does this sound a good deal?

Sounds like a very good deal if the maintenance has been kept up and is in good condition. 43000 miles is very low for a vehicle of that age. I am assuming that the price of 1500 (sorry, don't have that 'L' thing on my keyboard ) is uk pounds? Translated over to $2622 in US. Check the Kelly Blue Book Value here in US for my area and a Fair condition vehicle could sell for $3205 and Excellent condition for f$4040. If you like that car and how it drives and looks then sounds like a good thing.

I have now viewed the car and agreed to buy it.
I noticed it had a radio/cassete installed.
Does anyone know how easy it would be to install a cd/radio in this model?

Can someone point me to any websites that would give me some more info on this particular Mazda,especially if it has pictures and specs of the 1996 model.
This is my first Mazda and I am eager to read up on it.

Try www.mx-3.com. Should not be at all difficult to install a new radio/cd in place of the original cassette.
