No that's one trick i figured out baby it from 1st to 2nd kinda does it from 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th but only faintly

That makes me think that the bands/ clutches are worn out. When you baby it they have time to engage after the shift. When you push it the gear is already spinning fast by the time the clutches grip.
(I am using a bunch of imagination with this idea.)
