mx-3 appears to be burning oil but the oil level hasn"t changed
My 1992 mx-3 seems to be burning a ridiculous amount of oil, it smokes like a chimney but the oil level hasn't moved and there isn't anything obviously wrong with the motor (its the I4 1.6L). The compression is 150 in all 4 cylinders so I don't think its the rings. Has anyone else had this problem? or has an idea of what it could be?

Welcome to the forum
You are either burning oil or not and if so you would see it on the dip stick at some point going down.
Looking at the tail pipe residue can give a clue if it is unburned gas or oil.
From that point if you determine it is oil then you need to do a Compression test and repeat with a wet test, cylinder leak down test, cooling system chemical test and pressure test.
The results will indicate where the oil is leaking into the combustion chambers from.
If what you are seeing out the exhaust during engine running oil smells different in the exhaust then unburned gas. You can also plug the spark plugs to see if it is gas or oil on the plugs.
