Hello Everyone My names Matthew.
I just bought a mazda mx3 for 1800 dollers its a 1993 with rebuilt engine. The engine has only 60k miles as i am told. The car runs great however when i let off the gas to stop at a stop sign the engine kinda shakes as in LOW RPMS then dies then i start the car up and i have to rev the engine between 1k to keep it runing its just fine while driving does anyone know what could be going on with this?? I put some fuel injecter cleaner to see if that would help SO far nothen anyways thanks guys

WOOPS i forgot to mention that when i play with electronics it cuts out and dies if i roll down the window it willl GO low RPS and die turn on teh headlights it will LOW RPM and die =/

 

that happened to me, i frgt wat it was...it was either my battery, altenator, or altenator pulley...deff something electronic...idk, ive had so many issues w/ my car...haha

 

I just went through this. There is a rubber boot that goes between the air sensor and the engine intake. Check to see if it has a rip any where. Mine did and the air sensor could not detect a vacuum at idle and the engine cut off.
The boot is a dealer item, about $60 or $70.

I looked for cracks No cracks were found i adjusted the air idle control valve and it stoped dieing at stopsighns however my idle is WAY TO high now idles at 2000 RPMS but if i lower hte idel control valve down it dies like it has been i noticed that if i turn on the air condition the RPMS go way back up =/ well i think im going to give up on this mx3 and sell it for 1000 dollers i just bought a 93 mx6 with the v6 MUCH more power hehe
