1989 929 dies completly at idle
Whenever I stop at a red light or slow down enough that the engine goes to idle speed the whole car will die. The engine will shut off along with all the electronics. The dashboard (digital) , clock, radio, headlights, etc will all die and not come back on unless i wait a few seconds. When it does come back on all my radio presets are gone and the clock is reset, but the engine starts up perfectly and then i can go again. This is strange. I have checked the battery and terminals and they are securly connected. Also whenever im slowing down i can tell when its about to happen because on the Volts gauge it goes down one block and all the lights start dimming.
thanks for your help

You've probably got a bad ground. Take a look at your battery or any other wires being used as the ground for the vehicle.
No ground = no circuit = dead car/reset radio, etc. Your car could restart as a ground can be intermittent (like in the case of corrosion building up on the negative terminal of your battery)
This is actually a pretty common problem on Subaru's (I know of 3 that I've fixed that wouldn't start just because of corrosion build-up)
