Idle Problem please help!!

ok so when its a standard 92 mx3 v6 and when i put the car in to ant of the gears the idle jumps to 1100 it is usally around 500 anyone got any ideas?

i wouldnt be to worried unless it was up at like 2g or if it was dropping lower than 500

you said when you put it in any of the gears, that kinda implies a tranny issue, but mtx tranny shouldn't change idle speed by simply changing a gear.
Does RPM jump any time you press the clutch pedal?
