94 mx6 wont start...please help
car was driving fine last couple of days....go to start this morning and all I hear is a clicking noise. I jumped it and it started just fine....turn the car off and back on and were right back to the clicking. Tried jumping it for a longer period of time same result...I think its the starter or the alternator...

Check your battery and ground connections are clean and secure, ditto for your main chassis and engine block grounds, and get your battery checked for load capacity. You did not state that the battery warning light was on, so I assume it was not. Before suspecting the alternator. you ABSOLUTELY MUST make sure the battery is good, and is fully charged. Then start the car (boosting if necessary) and measure the voltage across the battery with the engine running at about 1500 rpm. You should see around 13.5 to 14 volts. Next, shut down the car, and leave the parking lights on for about 10 minutes. Recheck the battery volts, you should see over 12.6 volts. These values give the battery/ alternator pair a clean bill of health. Only now can you focus on the starter/ solenoid issues.
