Hi everyone,

New member here. I have a 2004 MPV and I'd like to put some roof racks on it for carrying kayaks, ladders, etc. I have looked for commercially made options, but haven't found anything. I'm pretty handy and can weld, so I have been thinking about making some custom racks.

There are two tracks or something running down either side of the roof with black covers on them, and I'm wondering if anyone knows what's underneath them. It would be nice if there was some attachment points under there. Please see attached images.
