Default Please need help. 05 mpv ignition switch destroyed

Hey guys i am in urgent need of help. Have recently had some ****** break into my 05 mpv. They smashed up the ignition and tried to steal the car but were obviously unsuccessful. I have found another ignition and replaced it but the car wont start or even turn over. Does anyone know the issue ii have here and how to get around it? Thanks in advance guys

Did you reuse your existing key reader ring? Did you get the barrel recoded to your existing keys?

If not, then the PCM won't recognize the new set up & it will need to be reprogrammed.

no my key reader thing was pretty much destroyed and i didnt realise i couldnt just swap out the ignition. So would i have to tow the car to mazda for this or can i just pull out the pcm and take it to them with the new ignition?

thanks very much for your reply

There may be mobile locksmiths that can help you, otherwise it's a tow job to Mazda.
