Default head gasket nightmare

Hi all! I have a 94 mpv. I bought a japanese domestic engine to replace the original a year ago. I blew the head gasket and it is at my mechanics. First off...STICKER SHOCK ON THE PARTS! They did a valve job and fixed the heads. I got a gasket set from Auto Zone, and the head gaskets are not the right size. Is there a difference between the blocks on american and jdm engines? They said the cylinders look smaller. I have a block stamp- 006656JF. Is that even a MPV engine? Thanks in advance

If it was a rebuilt engine they probably bored the cylinders. You can buy head gaskets to match the bore.

Turns out it's a jf 6 cyl 2.0. 88 or 89. I bought it from a JDM online store a year ago. They sent me the wrong engine! That explains why the manifold gaskets didn't fit when we put it in.
