My 2000 Mazda MPV's factory installed alram goes off intermittently while the vehicle is parked and locked. I have put in a new battery and disconnected the hood sensor but the problem remains.
Are there other sensors that can be disconnected besides the hood sensor to alleviate this problem?
Can the alarm be disengaged but still be locked? The car is 10 yrs old and has a key match system. If the only option is to disengage the alarm rather then go to the dealer for costly diagnostic testing and repair I am ok with that. As it is now we can not lock the car and leave it for any period of time.
