I just recently purchased a 1999 Mazda 626 and would like to disable the alarm system. This alarm system begins a 15 second count down once you open the door. If you don't turn the car on in time it will go off.

The car had no owners manual and am unable to find what to do.

If anyone knows what fuse to disable I would appreciate it. Also, are there other things on this fuse? Thank you for your time.

 

I was having trouble with my alarm too. I read about a toggle switch thats supposed to disarm the alarm but mine didnt work. To disable mine I had to disconnect the wires going in and out of the alarm box under the dash on driver side. If u take the under side of the dash apart and see a toggle switch follow the wire and jus disconnect all the wires. Sorry if this sounds redundant, I'm car stupid so I did my best to make sense.

 

Is this an aftermarket alarm? If so it should not be hard to find. Just look for the alarm module and disconnect the "brain" of the system. If it has starter kill, you will have to reconnect the starter wiring back to original, or the car may not start. It just depends what kind of alarm brand it is and how many systems are incorporated. I used to have to take many alarms out of our used cars due to malfunctions or no key fobs.

 

Easiest way is to open the hood and look for the hood switch. Should be at the front right corner area. Disconnect the switch connector and see if system will not arm as it normally would. If it still does, then short the two wires together and try again. Basically you are fooling the CPU which controls the alarm system into thinking that the hood is always open and so it will not arm itself.

I have found the factory immobilizer on my 2000 Mazda 626 which has disabled my engine (not recognizing the original key). do you know which wires on the immobilizer i have to reconnect or jump or cut?? thx!

 

You cant bypass the factory immobiliser. Do you have a spare key?
